You said it Maria !!! Watch it if you like to enjoy Nana Patekar's acting and he does not let you down. Are there no awards for 'character' actors in flop films ??

I've picked this up off the shelf at hte video store, looked at it, thought about it, and put it down at least three times. Glad I made the right call, although I'm runing out of Shahrukh movies and may get desperate. I am horrified at the idea of someone having an undying love for Karisma Kapoor.

DD, thanks. It said on "The Making Of" that it took 1 week to film that song. Granted, Ash looked beautiful and the costumes were different, but yeah, a lot to wade through to get there.

And have you ever noticed that in all his movies Sanjay Kapoor is the central prop that his leading ladies dance around so he has to move as little as possible? The second DVD of the set had 30 (!) songs from Boney Kapoor movies, many starring Sanjay (e.g. "Dilbar Dilbar" from Sirf Tum, with Sushmita Sen in about 10 costume changes).

great review! Yeah, sadly "Ishq Kamina" wasn't quite enough to make suffering through the movie worth it, was it?

Tramp Stamp. I'm *so* stealing that.

Hey BA, thanks for the kind words, and I would have enjoyed reading your now-deleted thoughts on the Bombay effect.

And regarding your third point, I'll definitely bear it in mind. I have a couple of story ideas I'm ruminating on for the "Interval" category, and I could see your Bombay topic as one. Will be in touch on that.

Hey - thanks a lot for all the comments and for visiting my blog ! First up - you've got a brilliant blog, some of your reviews should be out there in the press !

Second - totally 100% agree with the point you made about the city being a character in itself. I'm a very, very strong believer in that. In fact, in that 'addicted to bombay' piece, I'd written an entire para on how Bombay changes the entire look and feel of a scene, adding new meaning to it, in the Indian film industry - Shakti and Deewaar being two (of many) cases in points. But I deleted it, thinking I was going overboard :(

Third - how's this for a thought - Bombay as seen in Hindi Cinema ? want to give it a shot ? you can mail me at addict[at]haftamag[dot]com. thanks !
