Agree w/you on Mental Illness not being Indian Cinema’s favorite subject! Will try and seek out this one( dunno how though?) I thought Shabhana Azmi’s ‘15 Park ave’ did an excellent job dealing with Schizophrenia and mental illness. If you haven’t seen it yet then its definitely worth a watch. Also Kamalhaasan’s ‘Sadma’(for which he won his first of 4 National awards, this 1985 movie deals rather sensitively to Amnesia) has the most heart-wrenching last 20 minutes you’ll ever see.
