Went out with a bunch of Desi friends and we were all, um, got 'enhanced' before (just like we did for the first one)... the verdict? While the first one was fresh, funny and pushed the envelope - this one was a little tired, hilarious in parts and tore that envelope to shreds. It was entertaining but didn't have to go for the easy jokes as much as it did and should have gone with the more is less doctrine when it comes to stoner flicks.

Saw 'Baby's Mama' afterwards and it was much more entertaining. Can't wait for 'Pineapple Express' coming this summer :)

Praveen,

Hmm, yes, it will be interesting to see what the censors make of it...

I love Hank Azaria; I think he was terrific when he used to be on the TV series Mad About You, and then in the movie The Birdcage.

Thanks for the links, will check out the clips.

After you introduced Harold and Kumar part 2 on this blog I immediately subscribed to the haroldandkumar channel on you tube.

H&K is much like Jim Carrey's Comic capers, Borat, Govinda and David Dhawan's flicks etc where one must always remember the All Important Caveat before venturing into the theater...

"Leave your Brains at your Homes. Stop Looking for Logic and just Go with the Flow..."

I enjoy these flicks once in a while and am eagerly awaiting H&K whenever it releases in India. I hope it passes through the Censors without a cut.

Your Apu reference reminded me of The Simpsons cast in the Actors Studio, the videos of which I've pasted below...
Don't miss the Apu voice-over by Hank Azaria...
Dan Castellaneta (Homer) and Nancy Cartwright (Bart) were hilarious.

If you have already seen it then its worth a second watch.

[...] Filmiholic reviews Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, the sequel to Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. For anyone who has watched the first one, you know what to expect - hilarious digs at racial stereotypes, but also lots of slapstick, Borat-style teenage comedy that is not always funny. Filmiholic tells us that this is exactly the case. Should you watch it? Filmiholic thinks so, provided the jokes don’t offend. (NSFW Alert - depending on your work settings, some words in the blog post may cause it to be blocked). I will confess that by the last third of the film I felt like the foot was off the pedal and we were just coasting toward the end, but the many small details, like Kumar’s t-shirts, one of the extras shouting the Apu-referential “Thank you come again” as he passes Jersey’s most illustrious desi actor in a scene, and that amazing poem that not only refers to Route 3 but also incorporates the word “integer”, sweeten the journey along the way.
