Nic,

I wish there'd been something similar at Harrods (or at least, that I was aware of) years ago when my mother and I were in London for the January sales and got separated. (Pre- cell phone days.)

As I stood out on the landing by the staircase to different floors, waiting for her, I took out a notebook and started jotting down some thoughts. A guy nearby who was also hanging out, said to his wife when said spouse appeared "This poor girl's been waiting for so long, she's started writing a book!" :-)

I just love the "Husband's resting area" photo. It reminded me of my childhood days where we had to accompany our mom on her long sari shopping trips in the marriage season :)

Hi Maria,
I was at a sports store in Texas recently and there indeed was a 'Spouse area' in the corner of the store with magazines and such.Always thought husband resting area was a bit sexist:)

Filmiholic,
What a lovely collage. The camel on 5th Ave. and the 'Husbands' Resting Area' are especially intriguing! Thanks for bringing it to us through your blog, which, as you know, I've always liked.
