Right about now, the lovely Ms. Shetty should be in Manhattan, slipping into her seat before cameras and microphones at a press conference in anticipation of her presence as Grand Marshall at the India Day parade tomorrow in NYC.
One wonders what she would reply if a member of the Fourth Estate raised a hand and asked: “Ms. Shetty, as the woman who will lead this parade on Madison Avenue tomorrow, how do you feel about the Indian lesbian and gay group, SALGA, being denied the right to participate and march?”
You can read more about the SALGA lockout here.
Though they will not be on a float this year or marching, SALGA members do intend to be present at the parade tomorrow and encourage other supporters to be there too.
Counting on you to let us know if somebody does go there and ask her this question. She is an intelligent young woman, I would think she’s expecting it.
